Louisville

For Brad's fall break we went to Louisville. We were a little nervous about traveling with Luke so we decided to stay a bit closer to home for this excursion. We had nothing to be nervous about, however, because Luke travels like a champ. As long as we fed him every three hours during the day he was a happy little guy. Unfortunately he missed the whole vacation because his car seat seems to lull him to sleep! Louisville was great! Brad planned the activities which is very evident by the sites we visited.

Our first stop was Churchill Downs. Brad LOVES horse racing so it was really fun for him. It was interesting to see the track and learn about all the traditions that go along with the Kentucky Derby. Hopefully we will be able to head back down there and see some races one day. We also went out to dinner with our friends JD and McCall. JD is in dental school too.

Sunday we went to a dog show! Yes, me at a dog show. Never thought you would see that huh? The things we do for love... It wasn't too bad actually. The dog show folks are a strange group of people though. We saw the agility competitions, lure coursing, and the dock jumps. We got Luke dressed up in his dog shirt for the special occasion.

Monday we went to the Zoo. We always go to the zoo in every city we travel to. It was great. We even got to see the lions making babies. Very educational. Good thing Luke was actually awake for that part!

Finally on Tuesday we went to the Louisville Slugger Museum. That was my favorite part of the vacation. It was really interesting to see how they make the bats. I found out that all the pro players have their own special model and make for their bats. Luke got his first bat and was very excited about it! Brad tried out his skills in the batting cages (he hit about 5 out of 10... he's a little rusty)

It was a great vacation and we are hoping one day Luke will stay awake for a vacation!

Cute little family. Luke is a little trooper going on vacations already. What fun! And I loved on the last post when you wrote that Brad doesn't eat your Oreos. That made me laugh. As your old roommate, I know how important that is to you. :)
